Our branch campus in Guayaquil took part in the most important higher education fair in Ecuador: EDU.COM 2022, where renowned educational institutions and businesses got together to create a network that seeks to solve social problems and needs in current society. There were 30 national and international speakers who talked about topics related to pedagogy in order to strengthen education in Ibero America.

Susana Pombo, director of the early and basic education undergraduate programs, presented the topic: “Emotional education, a new social challenge”; she stressed how neuroscience demonstrates that learning does not exist if there is no emotion. “It is very important to be part of this event; we are committed to helping educate future teachers. Emotional education is a very relevant topic and I believe school and families must work together. 
 

Claudia Arteaga, executive director of “Fundación para la Integración y Desarrollo de América Latina (FIDAL)” explained that these events show the importance of education in the country. “We have seen that people are very interested in the topics we have been presenting”, she said.

The best ideas on education were recognized during the awards ceremony of the XIV National and IX Ibero American Competition of Educational Excellence which took place in the city of Guayaquil. The winning projects are being applied in classrooms or in communities in order to prove the impact they are having.
