UPS was invited to present its research model in the 2019 Netval Summer Conference

The university was invited to present it research model and obtained results from the 16h to the 19th of September during the Summer Conference, NETVAL 2019 in Italy.

NETVAL is the most important network of public research universities and organizations in Italy. Its mission is to share and strengthen skills in research, become a link with the industry, strengthen commercial projects and manage intellectual property. This network has 81 members that represent more than 80% of the Italian research system. 

During the conference, participants will talk about the most important topics related to knowledge transfer which have been designed by professionals and researchers at an international level. The university was invited as a benchmark in the management of research; Juan Pablo Salgado, head of research, will present the university's research model, which was also his doctoral thesis in Universidad de Ferrara, thesis which was awarded as the best of his class. 

The research model has been used in the univesity since 2015 and its proposal is a University – Ecosystem who aim is to be a producer and a product of society because it promotes and frees people in community. It is a university that is very closely related to its context; a context which it feeds and from which it is fed through environments that foster people's skills. It is a place that manages resources with a perspective of common good. 

The results of this model have very significant for the university, 73 research groups made up by professors, students and researcher have been created, 861 projects that will benefit society have been developed, 1770 papers have been published and indexed to the most important data bases in the world, 6 journals, 4 co working offices for students to work together, 130 entrepreneurship projects and 22 startups that have been created by students.
