The university's branch campus in Quito welcomed and held briefing sessions for 113 new scholarhip holders from SENESCYT who have enrolled in Universidad Politecnica Salesiana. The talks were conducted by the pastoral department on the 30th and 31st of March.

The aim of these sessions were to tell attendees about the progress of the Salesian Accompaniment Program for those who benefit from the policy of fees for higher education. The meeting was conducted by professor Ronald Carrillo, national coordinator of the program, who spoke about the integral support they will have in UPS which seeks to provide academic and human development.

The meeting had three main points: inform people about the university's services and institutional agreements, procedures for the support of advisors and academic tutors and the signing of a social responsibility commitment act.

Marcelo Oña, a computer engineerin student, thinks this programs is important and beneficial. "It helps fill empty spaces left by our high school education as well as improve our performance and finish our education" , he said.
