Universidad Politecnica Salesiana signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement with technological institutes from the province of Cañar. The ceremony, held in the city of Azogues, was attended by representatives of the university and institutes.

The aim of the agreement is to strengthen the relationship between institutions and develop higher education processes, as well as strengthen the skills of people in these institutes through continuing education.

The ceremony began with a talk given by Bertha Molina, coordinator of SENESCYT, "the work of universities and institutes that are here today is demonstrated through the signing of agreements that will enhance technical and technological education in the region."

Cesar Vasquez, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Cuenca, said "knowledge is not valid if it is not shared. Knowledge is not only in the classrooms, knowledge is in space; but the true learning of that knowledge is what educational institutions do. Starting today we want to share our laboratories with others, with the students of the institutes. We will always be willing to collaborate with processes that aim to improve higher education in the region."

The agreements were also signed by other universities in Cuenca: Universidad de Cuenca, Universidad del Azuay and Universidad Católica de Cuenca
