Closing ceremony of CITIS 2021

The university held the closing ceremony for the 7th edition of the International Congress on Science, Technology and Innovation for Society (CITIS 2021). This year's congress has six workshops, eight keynote speeches, 68 technical sessions, and was attended virtually by around 470 people from 15 Latin American and European countries.

During the closing ceremony, special recognitions were awarded to the four best speakers of the technical sessions. The selection was done based on: originality, relevance, theoretical, practical, experimental, methodological value, quality writing and its impact on society.

The recognitions were awarded to: Gilberto Reynozo Meza, who presented the topic "Multi-objetive logistic regression for anomaly detection in water distribution system"; Christian Salamea Palacios, "Effects of data augmentation of the identification on cough sound using convolutional neural network"; Alex Fernández Andrade, "Estimation of bicomponent adsorption behaviour of dyes: A modeling approach" and Néstor Rivera Campoverde, "Driving style analysis by studying PID'S signal for determination of its influence on pollutant emissions".

Gilberto Meza stated that "we have this opportunity to communicate ideas, research and results. All the projects are aimed at improving society".

UPS president Juan Cardenas stressed the importance of the projects for society; he thanked the speakers and organizers of the event. "Science must be done to create awareness, with social responsibility and with a sense of kindness because the research results must be useful for society".
