Ruth Caldas, Deputy Mayor of Cuenca, met with professors Vladimir Robles and Eduardo Pinos as well as students, all members of the UPS-Cuenca Artificial Intelligence Research Group-GIIATA ( Grupo de Inteligencia Artificial – GIIATA ) to learn more about their research projects

Students presented some of their projects and explained how they work to serve people with disabilities. Once the projects are done they are donated to institutions that work with people with disabilities.

Students explained that the process first begins by identifying the needs of people and then designing and making of the project.
The Deputy Mayor congratulated the work done by students and professors in order to help people with disabilities. She said she would keep track of the projects and look into the possibility of supporting them.

Vladimir Robles and Eduardo Pinos, professors in charge of the group, thanked the Deputy Mayor's visit and said that this is what encourages them to keep up their work.
