The accounting major at UPS-Guayaquil presented its community involvement project to support the Leon Becerra Children's Hospital  through an analysis of the environmental impact of  its general waste. The aim of the project was to determine the quantity of non-hazardous waste and identify the environmental impact that it may have within the institution.

"Besides learning about the environmental consequences, they also monitored the achievement of the Waste Management Program used by the Hospital", said professor Carmen Palacios, who leads the project.

Along with the results, they also presented a platform that will be used as a tool to register the hospital's common waste. "This hospital is open to serve all Salesian students" said doctor Ricardo Koening, President of the Children's Protection Society.
