UPS-Guayaquil held a closing ceremony for the summer camp which was organized by the Afro-Ecuadorian Cultural Center (CCA), which in turn is part of a project to promote the cultural richness in Ecuador through radio broadcasting.

This project is the result of agreement signed between the university and the Ecuadorian Radio Broadcasting Association. The aim of this agreement is to show the cultural richness of the afro Ecuadorian culture through Ecuadorian radio stations. "it is important teach children, teenagers and adults from all over the country, the value of their race, culture, history and identity" said Abel Godfroy, coordinator of  CCA.

Professor Susan Escobar said "this is the basis to show the importance of intercultural development in our country, and students are working hard to disseminate this information"

Children from several sectors in Guayaquil such as the Barrio Nigeria, La 25, La Isla Trinitaria, Esmeralda Chiquito, Monte Sinaí took part in the camp.
