In the last meeting held at UPS-Guayaquil, UPS President Javier Herrán announced the new faculty directors and the assignation of Father Luciano Bellini as the new coordinator of the Pastoral department at UPS-Guayaquil.

"The pastoral department is a fundamental area for UPS, it has to clearly define the identity of the university community and above all our students", said Father Bellini.

The salesian groups will continue working on their projects while the pastoral department comes up with new activities aimed at helping people.

For Father Bellini, it is necessary to consolidate services in the academic, religious and even in the personal field. "This will make students feel they are being listened to, we want people in the university to feel they work and study with family, which is a characteristic of salesians", he said.
