The university's branch in Cuenca is currently holding induction courses for students who will join the university for the September 2016 – February 2017 semester. There are over 700 students who have signed up for one of the seventeen undergraduate programs in the university.

The new induction courses began on September 5th and to begin there was a welcoming ceremony in the university theater. Cesar Vasquez, the university's vice president in Cuenca welcomed the new students and spoke about the university's salesian values, being good Christians and honest citizens and highlighted Don Bosco's phrase: "Education is a matter of the heart".

The induction classes are taking place in the university's classrooms, auditoriums and laboratories from 5pm to 9:30pm.
