UPS and the Municipality of Biblian signed an agreement
Luis Tobar Pesantez, UPS General Vice President, and Guillermo Espinoza, Mayor of Biblian, signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement that will help assure the rights of adolescents who face vulnerable situations in Biblian by providing courses that will improve their personal, family and community development. PACES is the Salesian Foundation that will be in charge of the courses.
Luis Tobar highlighted the importance of this agreement, since it will entirely benefit children and adolescents from Biblian because they will be reintegrated into society. The Mayor of Biblian thanked UPS and PACES Foundation for all their support in helping the youth in Biblian.
60 young people will participate in the training courses; the courses will be on electricity installation, plumbing, industrial mechanics, mechanics and furniture making. After the courses, there will be a process to reintegrate these people into jobs with the help of local companies.
The courses will last 3 months and participants will also get help to cover expenses in transportation, materials and food
