The Ministry of Social and Economic Inclusion (abbreviated MIES, in Spanish) and the UPS-Cuenca Entrepreneurship Club presented a report on the first stage of their cooperation agreement.

The UPS-Cuenca Entrepreneurship Club supports several entrepreneurship issues and improves the skills of students and families from the Centro de Desarrollo Integral Cuenca (Integral Development Center) in order to use their strengths and promote the "Good Living" ideal by creating businesses that will incorporate students with disabilities in jobs.

Juanita Bersosa, MIES coordinator, said the purpose is to offer people with disabilities opportunities to start their own startup companies, especially people from low income groups, and help them implement their business plan.

Fabián Cuesta, the UPS-Cuenca Entrepreneurship Club Director, described the first stage of the project and said the university is working along with the Centro de Desarrollo Integral to encourage projects and present them to society.

Cesar Vasquez, UPS-Cuenca Vice President, said "we often ask ourselves where we want to be in the future and then we ourselves are the first to create barriers; people will get as far as their imagination allows them to, and this will allow people to have goals and do whatever it takes to fulfill them".

To close the event, members of the Centro de Desarrollo presented the projects they have worked on during the first stage of this agreement.
