UPS students from several indigenous nationalities got together to present the book titled "Estudiantes Interculturales en la Universidad. Un relato colectivo desde Ecuador" written by Veronica Di Caudo. Pedagogy students, professors as well as the university authorities attended the presentation. UPS-Quito president Viviana Montalvo, congratulated the author, the students who helped in the book, and the University Publishing house- Abya Yala-UPS.

The book was written with the help of UPS students from the following nationalities: shuar, achuar, kichwas and afro-ecuadorians. They talked about their feelings, perceptions, motivations and adaptation process as students. The study was conducted by Di Caudo with the assistance of Sara Madera, a philosophy and pedagogy student.
UPS- President Javier Herran started his speech by greeting everyone in Kichwa he then said that this book is the starting point to find out the type of society students want to live in.  Marcelo Farfán, Ana María Narváez and René Unda highlighted the book´s contribution in academia.

Di Caudo said the book shows the life of each student who lives in the Universtiy residency, "they talked about their experiences and thus students and researchers learned together". Sara Madera said this book allows people to learn about the symbolic places these students, who are now her friends, come from.

During the event there was also a shuar dance performed by four UPS students, a greeting in Kiwcha which was translated by Romeo Duchicela  Antonella Yépez, and finally a poem titled "Canción del niño negro y del niño blanco" written by the Ecuadorian poet Nelson Estupiñán.
