UPS professor and researcher was awarded first place for his article on the electrical sector in Ecuador.

Víctor Hugo Orejuela Luna, a professor and a researcher at UPS was awarded first place by the Regional Energy Integration Commission (ECUCIER, in Spanish) for the scientific article that was presented in the XXIX National Electrical Industry Seminar held in Machala in May, 2014.

Orejuela, who is also the advisor for the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, presented the article titled ""Beneficios económicos de la aplicación del plan de reducción de pérdidas en el Ecuador" (Economic benefits of the implementation of a waste reduction plan in Ecuador) that summarizes some of the country's problems in this sector.
