The Casa editorial madrileña Grupo 5 has just published the book titled "Políticas de Inclusión Social de la Infancia y Adolescencia. Una perspectiva internacional" where one of the chapters is "Infancia y Juventud: ¿Por qué hablar de derechos y de género?, a paper written by UPS professor and researcher Rene Unda Lara and Natalia Sotomayor, who used to be a researcher in the Childhood, Adolescence and Youth Research Group at UPS.

30 experts and researchers from Latin America and Europe (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Portugal and Spain) from different fields such as psychology, anthropology, sociology, education and law participated in the book.

The book is about the rights of children and teenagers to influence inclusion politics for children and adolescents. This approach can be relevant for teaching and research as well as to create and implement a public agenda for children and adolescents, which up to now has been an approach based on needs.

The book is divided into two parts. A first theoretical part analyzes the categories of social inclusion and child and adolescent participation in an effort to contribute to a better understanding of the concept of child citizenship, addressing crucial issues such as inclusion, jurisprudence, gender, protection of rights, violence, functional diversity, mediation or co-parenting in childhood. In the second part, practical experiences are applied in various fields: migration, child and adolescent participation, child labor, participation in cultural life of children and youth projects of educational support , new legislation on children and references to methodological aspects such as contributions of ethnography or qualitative research in social work.

The book is interesting due to the current situation of legislative crisis and changes in social structures policies for children and adolescents. The book is aimed at professionals in institutions of civil society linked to the field of childhood, adolescents, researchers, teachers and undergraduate and graduate students.
