The university's branch in Guayaquil held a course titled "Motivation of Academic Reading" in order to implement strategies so that professors can encourage students on academic reading.

The mode of the course was virtual and on campus, 20 hours each, and it was organized by the Academic Reading and Writing Center. The tutors were Pedro Luis González Rivera, Susana Pombo Bermeo and Marjorie Salgado Ruiz, Spanish Language professors. Members of the Education and Scientific Information Research Group (Grupo de Investigación de Educación e Información Científica GIEDIC) also cooperated with the course. 

Attendees were very interested and pleased with the strategies to facilitate academic reading and writing for students.
